  1. One of input languages is not reflected in preferred languages

For some reason a duplicate of English appeared in my Input languages, so when switch between inputs - I have to skip English twice.

The problem is there's only one English in my Preferred languages in Settings, which has only one keyboard layout set up.

I'm not sure whether the issue is a result of last update honestly, but I have a strong feeling it is the case.

How can I remove a "ghost" input language from my Ctrl+Shift rotation?

  2. Input Language

    Hi Makisxxx
You must make sure that all unwanted languages are deleted in the "Settings" - "Time and Language" - "Language".
See the list of languages at the bottom.
Choose the correct language "by default" then click on each useless language, use the "delete" button.
    A+

  3. languages preferred

    Hello,

Assuming you want to use English (United States) as your preferred language, try these steps

    1. Right click Start Button or press Windows + X keys and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

    2. In the administrative Windows PowerShell window, type these commands one-by-one and press Enter key after each:

    Get-WinUserLanguageList

This will display list of installed languages on your machine. Note the LanguageTag for your preferred language.

    $1=New-WinUserLanguageList <LanguageTag>

Replace <LanguageTag> for your preferred language. For example, if your preferred language is English (United States), then you can use $1=New-WinUserLanguageList en-US.

    Set-WinUserLanguageList $1

After this, when opted, type Y to confirm setting preferred language. Close Windows PowerShell and you're done.

    Hope this helps!

    Input Language

I have the same problem, but in a milder form. My Windows install and default language is UK English, but my PC has a US keyboard. I want the default keyboard to start up with US, and have ENG as an option.

The trick to getting the keyboard you want to be your default at startup is to make sure it is at the top of the list of keyboards for your default language. Click on your default language and select Options to see your list of keyboards.

You can rearrange the order of the keyboards by deleting any keyboard above the one you want as default then re-adding them (each time you add a keyboard it is added at the bottom of the list).
