Windows 10: One of my HHD is taking forever to load under File Explorer..

Hi everyone..

Like i said in my title.. one of my HHD D: is taking forever to load under File Explorer (Windows) ... like my drive C: (raid) is loading instantly to see the folders.. same for F:.. but for this HDD D: its taking id say at least 30 seconds.. its a non sense.. (on this drive it mostly movies/series/pictures/songs/ etc) but if i load the folders or anything from KODI .. it loads instantly from that HDD like any others..

So anyone had any ideas ? its really annoying.

Also, I have tried the SFC /scannow thing, that didn't seem to do much. Also if it helps, this did seem to happen after I used a Wormhole Switch from j5create, but I can't be sure if that's when it started. But I don't see why it would be that Wormhole
Switch if it worked on all my other computers that I used it with.

Found this on another site and fixed the problem for me:

"After going through enabling startup services groups at the time and restarting the computer everytime! Eventually I found the service that was causing the problems with file explorer. The service is called Windows search and once disabled it restored functionality
to file explorer. The search function in file explorer works but the search in the taskbar doesn't."

Step by step guide:

1. Hold Win+r to open run

2. Type msconfig and hit ok or enter

3. Click Services

4. Navigate to Windows search (you can sort the list in descending alphabetical order)

5. Uncheck tickbox

6. Click apply then ok

7. Select to restart now

 

hmm ok.. i had this problem since 2 weeks.. i tried something.. went to propreties and optimized the drive for videos.. no change.. and went back to general ( not optimized for anything specific ) .. and boom .. my D: is loads instantly !!
