One or more network protocols are missing from this computer error

I have w10, running a static ip address through time warner cable in Ohio. Time warner said they had a problem on their end, ever since then I can't connect to our security cameras. I run a powerline from the house to the office., have reset my computer, modem and wireless router. Still getting the same error - one or more network protocols are missing from this computer. I don't know how to fix this. I tried talking w/ time warner cable - no go!

    Thanks

    :)

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand the inconvenience caused, I will be glad to assist you with this.

I would suggest you to try the methods below and check if it helps.

    Method 1: Network troubleshooter

An automated troubleshooter is a tool that can find and automatically fix some problems with your computer. These troubleshooters aren't designed to fix every problem, but they're a useful tool to try because they can often save
    you time and effort.

    1. Press Windows Key +R

    2. Type control and press enter to open control panel.

    3. Type troubleshooting in the control panel search box and open it.

    4. Click "view all" on the left pane.

    5. Run the Network troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Method 2: Run networking commands

    1. Type command prompt in the search bar.

    2. Right click on command prompt and run it as administrator.

    3. At the command prompt, run the following commands in the listed order, and then check to see if that fixes your connection problem:

    • Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.

    • Type netsh int ip reset and press Enter.

    • Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.

    • Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.

    • Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
Let us know the result. We will be glad to help if you need further assistance.

This seems to be an increasing problem with Windows 10 I have noticed it be asked on the Microsoft forums too
There is one thing you could try but you may need the drivers for your Ethernet after doing it and check you IPv4 settings.
open a command prompt as administrator and type or paste
Code: netsh int ip reset[/quote] if all goes well, then the operation should be successful. But if any messages saying "Access denied" comes up, then you'll have to resort to changing a setting in the Windows Registry.

The folder you need to change the permissions on is under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControl*Set/Control/Nsi/{eb004a00-9b1a-11d4-9123*-0050047759bc}/26.

Just right click on the 26 folder and give "Everyone" (the group, that is) full permissions.

Then run the netsh command again, and everything should be good!

Reboot the computer and if your Ethernet card no longer shows up in adapter settings you will need the Manufactures drivers to reinstall it. If your network card is visible but not working check your IPv4 settings

Many are having the same issue with same message and experiencing networking issues or limited wifi. It is not a Time Warner issue. AT&T sent me a new modem to no avail.

Other threads in this forum discuss the issue without a confirmed result. May want to search above and also google for any further info.

Props to sml for the instructions above, but in my case it did not help.

TL;DR Many are in the same boat. *Smile

Nothing works! >:/ my Internet will be fantastic after I do a full clean on my computer, but then as soon as something happens or or gets shut down or has to restart or I just restart it in general, my computer does that crap. Everything I've ever read doesn't fix this issue. I've legit tried everything. I've even tried going back to windows 8 and it wouldnt let me. Windows 10 is the spawn of Satan and is acting more like a virus than an OS -.-.

Lost sharing on my Mac Network side today 12/29, Windows side still worked.
I remembered I had Avast update definitions & reboot, in the morning, Sharing unable to connect on my Mac immediately. After reboot, fine, but next time I powered on lost internet.
Uninstalled Avast, regained Internet & Network Sharing.

Re-installed Avast, updated definitions. Internet & network Sharing fine.

No Internet & Network Sharing problem again.
    Uninstalled Anti Virus Avast again!
Then, "The Application was unable to start correctly" for Internet Explorer & Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox Perfect.
    Rebooted, all issues fixed.
Called Avast, Level 1, did not know what the word Definitions meant.
    Researching for replacement Anti Virus.

I have fixed the windows 10 virus! Just letting you guys know how I did it so maybe it will work for you *Smile. After doing YET ANOTHER factory reset (3rd time) before I installed anything I went straight to the windows update and updated it to the most recent update of windows 10. Now mind you, my computer came with windows 8.1 but my factory reset sends me back to windows 10 no matter what. Anywho, I installed those suckers, restarted my computer twice, then wa-la it was fixed. Hope this helps anyone who is having trouble *Smile. Back up everything before on a hard drive or something! Do NOT install anything (especially Antivirus) before updating. The Antivirus blocks updates that are crucial to the update to work. If you installed an update with the Antivirus on, you cannot just simply Uninstall them. The damage is already done and you need to go back before your update downloaded. Sorry for those who this didn't help. *Sad FOR THE FUTURE : EITHER UNINSTALL OR COMPLETELY TURN OFF YOUR ANTIVIRUS FOR WINDOWS 10 UPDATES.
I'll be posting this on other forums with this problem as well.

    bug.
