OneDrive being odd or is it normal behaviour?

    Hi All,

So my lecturer wanted me to submit coursework to him via a shared folder in OneDrive. I thought 'OK why not - what could go wrong?'.

After signing in it decided to remove all of the folders and their contents from my Desktop, Documents, Music and Pictures folders. Completely gone. It then decided to upload these to the cloud which only has 5GB of space and filled up. I was worried so I signed up for more space and it then continued uploading the files.

What I was left with was a folder in file explorer with all of the files it had removed from their original locations separated into 4 folders . For example it has the the folder Desktop here: C:\Users\cjscr\OneDrive. Its the same for Documents, Music and Pictures. This I think is a view of the files that are now on OneDrive. The files had been completely removed from their local locations. Signing into OneDrive confirms this is a view of the folders it now contains.

    Questions then are:

    1. Is this usual behaviour? It sent me into a panic when I saw all of my documents in the coursework folder had disappeared.

    2. How do you stop OneDrive from doing this if it is usual behaviour?

    3. How do you select what folders OneDrive actually syncs? I want the files to remain on my PC as well as be synced to OneDrive.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

    N96 Odd rotate Behaviour

I've stopped using the carrying case for a few days and I stopped getting that odd behaviour so I was sure it was the case. I'll go look for a better one this time.

    thanks for replies.

  4. OneDrive being odd or is it normal behaviour?

    Odd software behaviour Lumia 720

I'm the proud owner of a Lumia 720 since July. I'm facing some odd software behaviour recently though. Without notice or any pattern, the current app changes to another one, sometimes four or five times while my phone vibrates like mad. It happens two, or
three times a week, and there's no significant pattern but this weird "phone on speed" behaviour always ends in the Bing app. I thought rebooting was the answer but it doesn't. Does someone has any clue?
