Windows 10: OneDrive Photo Icons will not display

When I access my photos in my User Account>Pictures, the icons for my photos are thumbnails, a small version of the photo itself as it should be.


However, when I access photos on my OneDrive from my Windows 10 Pro Desktop, the photos do not show up as thumbnails, but just the icon of a photo, similar to the icon one sees if you switched the display of the folder contents to List, or Details. It does not matter if I use small or large Icon View. example below


When I first open the OneDrive Photo Folder, the icons briefly flashes the thumbnails into view before switching to that of a generic photo icon example below.


Lastly, as a possible relevant detail, my OneDrive syncs with a logical drive, not the physical drive C:\.

Whatsapp photos do not sync with OneDrive

OneDrive folder icon changed to plain

Thank you for replying.

I understand your concern and suggest you to Unlink OneDrive and run OneDrive setup
again and check. Here is the steps:

• 
  Right-click the white OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar.
  
  
  
  (You might need to click the Show hidden icons arrow next to the notification area to see the
  OneDrive icon.)
  
• 
  Click Settings, and then click Unlink.
  
• 
  Follow the steps in the Welcome to OneDrive wizard to set up OneDrive.

Onedrive icons not displaying properly!


I have a very weird issue where the folder and file symbols associated with onedrive (sync, OK or ERROR symbols) are not displayed when navigating the onedrive folder on my PC. All the files and folders only display the sync symbol while the onedrive app in the taskbar shows that there are no files syncing.
The issue become even weirder when i manually navigate to my onedrive folder on my E drive --> E:\onedrive\. Here all the icons ARE displayed correctly. As seen in the image below, the only difference between the folders is the path, where one is directly linked as the onedrive folder, while the other is the actual path on my harddrive. Similarly, the library access in the sidebar also displays the symbol issue.



I've already been able to resolve the issue abit, seeing as previously my onedrive was constantly syncing unknown files and would never display the symbols correctly, however I'm now comletely stuck with this issue after forcing a full reinstall of onedrive and completely resyncing all my files.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to resolve this issue?
