Windows 10: Onedrive Setting

Hi Folks, this is what is happening now and my only solution is at present, to leave it as it is, and hope the wheels don't fall off.

Onedrive Problem.

I have always had Onedrive on D:drive on all my computers. That allowed me to copy items to the 'Desktop' where I could do what was needed, then move to somewhere to save it or just put it in the Recycle Bin.

I copied the Onedrive files to an external USB HDD on both computers keeping a note of when it was done. Giving me 4 copies plus the one in the Cloud.

The first thing I noticed in 'Settings' was:- image No. 1

I clicked the link and something started but there was no way to stop it. That was when I noticed:- image No.2

These are my Onedrive folder, but did not want the 'Desktop' to be included so I did:- image No.3

This gave me:- image No.4

Notice the little 'Ticks' bottom left on each.

The one way I could remove the ticks was to close Onedrive but this was not what I wanted,
so I did a 'Recovery' but it never rectified the situation as I still get the result of image No.1

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

OneDrive folder icon changed to plain

I understand your concern and suggest you to Unlink OneDrive and run OneDrive setup
again and check. Here is the steps:

• 
  Right-click the white OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar.
  
  
  
  (You might need to click the Show hidden icons arrow next to the notification area to see the
  OneDrive icon.)
  
• 
  Click Settings, and then click Unlink.
  
• 
  Follow the steps in the Welcome to OneDrive wizard to set up OneDrive.
