    onedrive transfer to new computer and delete files on old computer


    I got a new computer W10 . I use onedrive on my old computer W10. I know that i can access my onedrive files on the new computer by signing in to onedrive on the new computer. How do I permanently delete all the onedrive files on the old computer without losing them in onedrive online and without losing them on the new computer?

    I am Vijay, an Independent Advisor. I am here to work with you on this problem.

    PROGRAMS TRANSFER

    Make a list of all programs which are installed on your computer. Download the installables from the respective vendors' sites and install them on new computer.

    For Office 365, you will need to deactivate existing installation and install it on new computer.

    FILES TRANSFER

    The best way would be to copy all files to an external USB drive. Then you can attach that drive to the target computer and copy from USB drive to target computer.

    Another way which has been becoming popular is to use a cloud service such as Onedrive to transfer the file. You can upload your files to Onedrive and then login to Onedrive from target computer and download.

    Onedrive - Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online.

    Onedrive gives free space of 5GB and if you are using Office 365 Home or Personal subscriber, you get 1 TB. Hence, if you have only 5 GB and you wants to transfer say 20 GB, you will need to upload and download and then delete all these files from Onedrive
    and its Recycle bin. Repeat it till all your files are transferred.

    transfer files between computers on a home network

    I don't know why this is so hard to do but I would like to transfer files between a desktop PC running windows 10 pro and a laptop running windows 10 home. I would like to transfer files in both directions. Both computers are on the same home network and are connected wirelessly.

    Could some one provide either specific step by step instructions on how to do this (I googled and found a countless list of instructions that don't work)

    or a link to a reference.

    I don't know if this is possible but it would be nice to see the computer sending the desired file in the explorer file manager of the computer receiving the desired file and then under the computer see a list
    of shared files and folders.

    Again, this seems like such a reasonable way of sharing files and folders. Shouldn't there be a simple way to do this?
