    OneDrive woes

    Hi,

New to Windows 10 from mac.

I'm trying to figure out how to back up only my Documents folder to OneDrive. It is doing a sync right now and backing up my entire computer - this is excessive and I don't need that.

I went to OneDrive Settings > Back up > Manage Backup. And I deselected Desktop and Pictures because I don't need those backed up. But each time I went back into the same dialog, they were selected automatically again.

I then clicked 'Stop Back Up' for Documents and my entire Documents disappeared from my PC. It's terrible that OneDrive has the power to do this, because the original location of those documents is on my PC.

    So my questions are

    1) how can I recover my Documents on my PC? They are in the OneDrive > Documents folder in their entirety, but I need them on my PC as well.

    and

    2) How can I tell Onedrive only to back up my Documents folder?

    Thank you.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.
