Discus and support OneDrive won't start . . .     OneDrive won't start . . . AT ALL


    I noticed the OneDrive icon missing from my Notification Area, so I tried to run it from the Start Menu, but nothing happens. So, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. As it went through the set-up, it appeared to start, but then the icon disappeared again, and I was unable to sign in. So, I uninstalled it again, rebooted, downloaded it, started the Setup, and it once again began to run but then shut down.

    I've tried to run the Set-up again, but it produces an error code: 0x80040c81, which points to this, but it's obviously erroneous, as I am on the Internet now, posting this message, and everything else, such as Email, is working.


    I'm guessing/hoping this is a MAJOR BUG in OneDrive that will be fixed quickly, as all the workarounds I've found on the web don't work.

    Error Code 0x80040c81 can be fixed by resetting your OneDrive.

    PS: I tried this also:

    Press Windows key + R
    Type: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
    Hit Enter

    But I get "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file"

    Windows 10 - OneDrive

    Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

    If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.
