Windows 10: OneNote 2013 vs the Windows 10 OneNote App

Which one should I keep and use?

Onenote and Windows 10

Please can someone help. I have just upgraded to Windows 10. I previously used OneNote 2013 and it was my default program. I had removed OneNote the other version of Onenote from my windows 8.1 machine.

Now I cannot remove onenote, but more importantly I cannot seem to set the default to OneNote 2013. When I click my Surface pro 3 pen, it opens Onenote not Onenote 2013, and I don't like that App and don't want anything to do with it.

I was told to click the default application on Onenote 2013 under advanced options, which I did. A pop-up then came up saying I needed to change it under system settings, which I tried to do. But it is sill defaulting to Onenote when I click my pen.

You are not solving the problem with your suggestion. First it does not work, you can not compose a new mail and attach a onenote page to it, second, the onenote app should be able to simply email a page, it can email a screenshot so why not the whole
page? Also it is noteworthy to say here that onenote 2013 and onenote 2016 can email the whole page using outlook, but here we are talking about using the apps that come preinstalled with windows 10, onenote and mail for win 10!

 

The oneNote "apps" is limited. But it's a nice integration with windows 10 edge. I hope more people learn oneNote.
Ex: in the app you can't create link to another note.

 

I'm sticking with One Note 2013 because it is 200% better then the app. With the app, I can't even move something from one folder to another. It's just fubar....
