Windows 10: OneNote dictate not showing

I got a laptop for my son to use the inbuilt Windows 10 OneNote and want to use the Dictate feature. It works fine on my profile on the same machine, but when I switch to my son's (child) profile the dictate button momentarily appears and then disappears again permanently. I tried a test where I changed his profile to an admin one but the Dictate still does not show up.

Help appreciated.

Dictation

I need a way to send dictations to my secretary without using an "out of office" server (because of client confidentiality). Seems like the only way to do this is through Onenote. I've tried other dictation programs, but they force me to send the dictation
to some remote server. Is there any way to save a dictation or send it directly to email?

 

Dictation - Random Capitilization

It's possible that Dictation listens and analyzes your words in phrases or context clues. It is important to state the word clearly.

By the way, since when did this behavior start? Have you made any changes or installed any updates on your computer before this issue?

In order for us to sort this out, I suggest setting the Dictation to make all the letters in a word lowercase. Once this is enabled, try dictating again and see if it still randomly capitalizes letters or words.

If the issue persists, then it is best that you train again your PC to recognize your speech. Follow these steps:

• Open Control Panel.
• Click Ease of Access > Speech Recognition.
• Under Configure your Speech Recognition experience, click the link Train your computer to better understand you option.
• Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

Send to onenote

Hi,

It may be an issue with the add ins in OneNote, we suggest that you disable OneNote add-on and enable it. To do so, follow the steps below:

• Open Internet Explorer.
• Click Manage add-ons.
• On the left pane, click Toolbars and Extensions.
• On the right hand side of the page check for Send to OneNote add-on. Highlight
  Send to OneNote and click on disable.
• Once the add-on is disabled highlight the add-on again and enable it.

Note: To enable the File menu in Internet Explorer press the
Alt key on your keyboard.

You may also perform an online repair in Office 2007, to do an Online repair, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows + X.
• Click Control Panel.
• Click Programs and Features.
• Right click Microsoft Office, click Change.
  
• Choose Online repair.
• Follow the on-screen instructions.
