Only patch and use Macrium update on Skippy 18234

    Hi folks
I'm posting this is a separate post because it can be easily missed in the general Macrium thread.

ONLY apply the patch linked to in the Macrium thread to MR on the named skippy - 18234 (and its stand alone rescue tool).

Do not apply patch to any other MR version on any other Windows 10 than the skippy.

If you do the restores etc will fail !!!

For all other builds the normal Macrium update should be followed.

    Cheers
    jimbo

    :)

Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect

In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.
    1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
    2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
    3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination

Only patch and use Macrium update on Skippy 18234 [IMG]
    4. Proceed to restore then Shutdown and disconnect the old HD and replace with the new HD
    5. Boot up with your new HD.

    Hi,

The Patch you suggested worked well, and fast.
Sure a lot easier than following 17 steps !

Any idea when the new Patch for the new problem will be available ?

Will it be posted here ? Where ?

Thanks again for all the help,
    Bob

Only patch and use Macrium update on Skippy 18234

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Only patch and use Macrium update on Skippy 18234 :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
