What causes this error message; oops something went wrong? It's a blue screen and has to deal with signing in. Then proceeds to tell me to restart.....on the restart, it fails to sign in and proceeds to tell me that "signing out and signing back in" will fix the issue.

This happened before but after a few sign out/sign in attempts it went away.....now it's back, but only 1 time so far. Anybody else had this happen to them and what did you do to rectify it?

    :)

After asking for my Microsoft account I entered the account and password and I got a blue "Oops, something went wrong" screen

Original Title: Oops something went wrong

I'm in the process of setting up this new computer that I just purchased. After it asked me for my Microsoft account I entered the account and password and I got a blue "Oops, something went wrong" screen. How do I get off this screen to continue with the
set up? Or have I purchased a lemon? Because right now I'm simply just stuck on this blue screen. Again, the device was just purchased today

Power on and power off the computer three times, on the third try, it will boot into the recovery environment.

    Click Advanced Options

    Click Troubleshoot

    Click Reset this PC

    Follow the on screen instructions.

@Plankton, this sounds like the infamous 'Blue Screen of Death' (BSOD). If so, it means that a fatal system exception has occurred and Windows crashed. There can be a multitude of causes, no two alike. Often it is a driver that is the culprit, but it takes an expert to track down the exact cause.

There is a board specifically for BSOD where such experts are there to help you. Be sure to read the posting instructions first, it's important to provide them with the necessary information.
    BSOD - Posting Instructions

If it's something other than a BSOD, can you post a screenshot?

    Or is this your problem?
