Windows 10: Open with drop down menu ALWAYS opens to the left

    Open with drop down menu ALWAYS opens to the left


    Hello ,

    please help resolve this annoying issue

    When selecting a file and open with , there is a drop down menu that to my knowledge by default
    open always to the right in Windows, but not if it too far right on the screen then it opens to the left .

    But in my case even with enough space left or right , the drop down menu ALWAYS opens to the left.

    How to fix so it opens normal way again

    If you open your Start menu and click your name at the top-left, is any other account listed on the drop-down menu there?

    Hi,

    Please let us know, if you are trying to open the drop down list by pressing right and left keys.

    If yes, I suggest you to press enter, instated of right and left key and check.

    In the new update, by design enter key opens the drop down in the start menu.

    Let us know the status of the issue.

    Open with drop down menu ALWAYS opens to the left

    It depends on the placement of the cursor and any neighboring items that can make it switch from the right to the left in how the context menu opens. There is nothing that you can do to change that behavior, which all OS's deal with.

    I just tried it on several files. For me it always opened just to the left of where I placed the cursor.
