Windows 10: Optane Crash

Dear Sirs / Madam's

I'm in the process of reloading a HP Pavilion 14-ce3501na that has a Intel HBRPEKNX0202AH M.2 Drive.

It's the first time I've seen Optane and SSD on the same M.2 Drive.

I booted the laptop with Hiren's PE boot media on a USB drive to examine the drive and when finished I restarted the laptop which then would only boot into recovery.

Looking in the bios at the Intel Rapid storage area i now see "Incomplete Optane Volume"

Can anybody offer me an insight as to why booting from the Hiren WinPE drive broke the Optane ?

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

Click on the Start menu and search for any of the apps listed above. Once you find the app, refer the article

to know where to look for the module’s status.

Confusion persists here:

Whilst this suggests success restoring with Optane driver in an Acronis boot disk:

Yet I can see what the Macrium guy is getting at- the memory is just a cache- and its presence does not influence the content of the HDD.

I'd suggest an experiment or two is in order. For example, can you create an image when normally booted, normally functioning Optane, and then mount that image and explore it successfully?

Then try restoring it, both in normal mode (assuming data disk only) and using the boot disk.
