Windows 10: Optimal Resolution Notification

Once again, I'm plagued with this annoying pop-up-- this time, when trying to play older games, the pop-up causes the game to minimize, while the unwanted Windows "Optimal Resolution" warning pops up, unwanted, not needed, no way to prevent.

Notebook: I do **not** have Intel graphics, so the link describing igfxTRAY.exe *does* *not* *work*. The graphics card is an NVIDIA GTX 1070.

I queried over on NVIDIA site, and was politely informed it is a Windows 10 issue (when is it **not**?).

I have edited the registry in a seemingly vain attempt to **block** this useless and unwanted pop-up from Microsoft Windows 10.

None of the edits, which were directly affecting the NVIDIA suite/drivers, blocked the notification popup.

Turning off all notifications? Also has zero effect.

The web is full of complaints-- and zero effective solutions. Meanwhile microsoft responds with repeated boiler-plate non-answers: "boot into safe mode" "update drivers" "run registry scans" "check for viruses", etc, etc, etc-- **none** of which have zip-all to do with the problem of NOT WANTING THE POP UP IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I suppose I am running a "virus" of a sort ... it's called "windows 10"... possibly the most "nanny-state" version Microsoft has released to date...

But nobody can answer how to disable "optimal resolution" popup?

Notification of Optimal Sceen Resolution

I get a notification to say "this is not the optimal screen resolution for the primary display. The optimal resolution is 1366 x 768. Select this notification for more information"

When I attempt to select the notification it disappears. When I check my settings I do have the recommended 1366 x 768.

Why then do I get the notification? (igfxtray.exe)

 

Optimal Resolution Notifications

Hi again Microsoft community!

When I'm trying to run a fullscreen app with the resolution lower than 1920x1080 it appears a notification about Optimal Resolution Notification and the app is minimizing.I know how to remove the notification, but, how do I solve the problem with minimizing?
