  1. Optimising the SSD drives

    Hello everyone,

Since 4 days I've got a problem regarding the SSD drives as follows: every time after reboot it's always show that the SSD drives never run for optimisation although I did many times before reboot. Has anyone experienced such a problem and got a solution? Many thanks!

" Defragment and Optimise Drives "

So I can under the " defragment and optimise drives " box, optimise my SSD safely because it is only running the TRIM command and NOT defragging the SSD correct ?

Side note, it says for my SSD, Current Status - Needs optimisation (376 days since last run)

You are certain that it is not going to defrag the SSD, it is only going to run the TRIM ?

    optimise hard drives

SSDs do not have the optimisation option turned on. It can shorten the life of the drive.

    Optimising the SSD drives

" Defragment and Optimise Drives "

    Hi,

First of all, I would like to describe the laptop that I have. I have an 128gb SSD which holds the OS on it and a 1 terabyte HDD which I use for all my programs, documents, music, videos etc etc, both came with the laptop. Now I know its safe and normal
to defrag a HDD which I do probably 1 every 2 to 3 months but for the solid state drive I don't know what to do. When you search for defrag, the defrag and optimise box appears and shows both of my drives. For the SSD it won't give me the option to " analyse
" but it does give me the option to " optimise ". Now does optimise mean defragmentation or does it actually mean optimise because those 2 words mean completely different things when were talking about HDD and SSD's.

Does optimisation mean defragmentation under the " defragment and optimise drives " ?

( Side note, I am perfectly aware defragging a SSD is very bad due to its finite number of write cycles, there is also a lot of discussion online about not defragging an SSD because it doesn't need it ).
