Windows 10: Original Factory Recovery

Discus and support Original Factory Recovery in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; How about the product key ? Not sure. Perhaps your existing key will be applied to the upgrade or they may issue a new one. I don't think it's been...     Even if that materialized, I will clean install the final version. *Smile Even when upgrading from 7 to 10, I will clean install 7 before getting 10.

    Original Factory Recovery

    I'm using a Win8 Pro key... I expect to take it all the way through RTM. (that activation works at all may be that it is being tested on TP as well...)

    (I'd still rather fork over 15 or 30 bucks and get a fresh iso and product key, (or two), though.) *Wink

    thanks again to everyone who helped with tips or copies of what is going on. I will hang tight until the final release and see what
    it gets me. I have two other systems with 8.1 Pro and one of them should get me what I am looking to get

    Did you activate clean install of 10 with 8 Pro key or did you upgrade?

    Looks like the answer to OP's question then - no need to restore back - just activate 10 with 7 key?

    Nope, tried a Win7 Pro retail key and it didn't work. Besides the OP has a HP key which most like will only qualify for Starter/Core editions.
