    OS Migration tool not made by Microsoft?


    So Microsoft is a massive company with many resources. How is it that we have to rely on 3rd party hardware to migrate an installed OS from on hard drive to a new, faster SSD? Shouldn't Microsoft have tools to upgrade a PC as part of their Windows installed apps? I would prefer this solution be completed instead of whatever Recall is supposed to be.

    good idea but I don't want my main system located on a flash stick drive. I just want to have a new clean system and don't spend a lot of time installing all my apps

    There is the Paragon Migration Tool. It works really well. I have used it. With 3 clicks you transfer your system. In light of it's capabilities and ease of use the $19.95 is a small fee.

    Handy OS X Tools and Apps

    You should add VLC to that list. Plays most anything, except WMV/WMA.

    And are we sticking to free tools? Cause I have suggestions for some that cost money, but are well worth it IMHO.
