    Outlook 2003 - Problem after Upgrade/s

Recently had two large upgrades take place.

Now emails - after using link open my documents folder! To read post in IE11 I have to open browser and relevant url.

What happened? How can I get back to where I was? Pity my period of win10 use has passed. Thank goodness I have win7 on my desktop in UK*Smile

    :)

That should mean Outlook 2003 with SP or higher. Even Outlook 2010 seems to have this issue. :-(

    Outlook 2003 - Problem after Upgrade/s

    Hi.
Just to make sure I understand: If there is an HTTP or HTTPS link in an email, when you click on it, File Explorer opens your Documents folder?

If that is the case, I'm not sure how an update would do that.
You might have a look at your Default App settings, to see what shows there:

    Settings>System>Default Apps
Scroll down and select Choose Default Applications by Protocol

Scroll down the list on the left side, until you come to HTTP and HTTPS. On the right, your default app should be your browser (Edge, IE, Firefox, Chrome, or whatever you prefer to use).

Here's a video tutorial on setting default apps:

And here's a written tutorial on it, with a bit more detail:

    Hope that helps!

Thanks very much for prompt and helpful reply.

Have checked as you suggested and protocols etc. are showing Internet Explorer.

At the moment I am using IE11>History>paste ...
I do get there in the end*Smile

Hmmm....would you please try changing the HTTP and HTTPS protocols to Edge, rebooting, and see if a link in an email opens in Edge?

If still not working, you could try a repair of Office:
right-click Start, select Control Panel>Programs and Features>Uninstall or Change a Program

Highlight Microsoft Office, then above the window select Change>Quick Repair. This repair option is fast, and may do nothing. The other one, Online Repair, is almost a fresh install, and will require you to re-activate (using your MS Account login or keycode).

Also, running sfc /scannow might help if some of your system files are corrupt. If corrupt files are found, the system needs to be rebooted, and the scan run again, sometimes 3x with reboots in-between, until you get the "all clear".

Failing these options, you could try uninstalling the offending updates, and see if the problem is resolved. If so, download them for off-line install. Perhaps they (or one of them) didn't install correctly? If you need to try this, I'll need the offending KB numbers to look up the downloads for you.

Many thanks simrick for assistance. Unfortunately I am in Malaysia without any access to 2003 disc.
Opening Edge then IE allows me to use HTTP/S. Looks like MS is forcing Edge upon us as changing default to IE obviously didn't work.
