Outlook 2010 (local, NOT Exchange), Win 10 64

The To Do list displays but it is empty. I dont think this is a setup issue. Neither flagged emails nor tasks show up. Been this way for years, but need the To Do list now.

Tasks Sync to Exchange Server with Wrong Date

Here's another simple way to reproduce this problem:

    • Switch the Windows Phone to flight mode to prevent any synchronization with the Exchange Server 2007.
    • Create at least two new tasks on the Windows Phone. Make sure the start and end dates of each task are different from those of the other tasks.
    • Switch off flight mode on the Windows Phone to enable synchronization with the Exchange Server 2007.
    • Once the tasks appear on Outlook (or Outlook Web Access), you will see the problem, which is that all the tasks would have the start and end dates of the task you saved first.

Here is an example of what would happen:

    • Tasks Created on Windows Phone:
      • Task Saved First: Start 2010-05-20, End 2010-05-21
      • Next Task: Start 2010-04-08, End 2010-04-08
      • Another Task: Start 2010-06-12, End 2010-07-12
    • Tasks Synchronized to Exchange Server 2007:
      • Task Saved First: Start 2010-05-20, End 2010-05-21
      • Next Task: Start 2010-05-20, End 2010-05-21 (WRONG!)
      • Another Task: Start 2010-05-20, End 2010-05-21 (WRONG!)

This problem is so easy to reproduce. So it shouldn't be very difficult to fix. The bug is only on Exchange Server 2007.

Tasks Sync to Exchange Server with Wrong Date

I have experienced this problem ever since our company upgraded from Exchange Server 2003 to Exchange Server 2007. For many months, I have done everything to isolate the cause of the problem. I used different Windows Mobile phones and OS versions from
6.0 to 6.5. I've done many hard resets and deleted sync partnerships many times. I've used Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007, and deleted Outlook databases. In the end, the problem remained because the only thing that didn't change was the Exchange Server, specifically
    Exchange Server 2007.

All my experiments led me to the root of the problem. I've had what I previously thought were different problems but turned out to be complications of the same basic problem. I first thought there was a problem with recurring tasks. But the problem has
nothing to do with recurrence at all. The problem occurs when you synchronize more than one task at the same time. When you complete a recurring task, it basically becomes two tasks: the completed task and the next task as per the recurrence. So here is the
root of the problem: synchronizing multiple tasks at one time causes all those tasks to get the start and end dates of the first task in the sequence.

Here is an example that I have proven in my experiments. In Outlook, I created 5 tasks with the following start and end dates:

    • Task 1: 2010-03-16
    • Task 2: 2010-03-17
    • Task 3: 2010-03-18
    • Task 4: 2010-03-19
    • Task 5: 2010-03-20

I waited for the 5 tasks to sync to the Exchange Server and eventually sync to my Windows Mobile phone. Then on my phone, I quickly changed the dates of all 5 tasks to the following:

    • Task 1: 2010-03-23
    • Task 2: 2010-03-24
    • Task 3: 2010-03-25
    • Task 4: 2010-03-26
    • Task 5: 2010-03-27

But after the phone synchronized with the Exchange Server, the tasks appeared in Outlook as follows:

    • Task 1: 2010-03-23
    • Task 2: 2010-03-23 (WRONG)
    • Task 3: 2010-03-23 (WRONG)
    • Task 4: 2010-03-23 (WRONG)
    • Task 5: 2010-03-23 (WRONG)

Note that even though the Exchange Server had the wrong dates, the Windows Mobile phone still had the correct dates. So what I currently do to fix the problem is to edit one task on the phone, save the task without actually changing anything, sync with
the Exchange Server, and then repeat this process on the next task. This basically ensures that only one task at a time syncs with the Exchange Server, thereby avoiding the multiple-task-sync problem.

So there is the problem in its simplest form. It is consistently reproducible.
It is a bug in Exchange Server 2007. Please fix it, Microsoft!

Outlook 2010 (Not Exchange) Tasks are not visible in To Do list

Outlook 2016 not talking to Exchange 2010

    Thanks for that guys,

How do you set it up on the Exchange side? I have access to the Exchange server but not sure how to configure it to connect in this way. I'm currently connected on another machine (win 7) running Outlook 2010 and picking up emails just fine. Is there something that needs to changed in Exchange specifically for Outlook 2016?
