Windows 10: Outlook 2016 contacts

Discus and support Outlook 2016 contacts in Microsoft Office and 365 to solve the problem; I am having a bit of a mare with outlook.     Outlook 2016 contacts


    I am having a bit of a mare with outlook. I have my main POP3 email address plus a Hotmail acc (lesser used) setup in it. Obviously my POP3 is my main default acc I always use. But when I go to my contacts list (setup in business card display) it always defaults to my Hotmail contacts. This is annoying as the contacts I want to view first is my POP3 contacts. I cannot see how to change it?

    Also the Hotmail acc (which outlook has setup as an exchange acc is constantly saying 'updating address book' at the bottom. Can I fix / stop this?

    Windows Phone linking Persons undeletes categories, groups

    I use office 2016 outlook, with an Exchange ActiveSync-account set up in my Office 2016 Outlook.

    My contacts, persons have been further identified using categories in Outlook 2016 .

    ISSUE: when I link a contact on my Windows Phone 8.1 with the same contact/person (e.g. outlook contact is also a linkedin contact or a skype contact), the Category in Office 2016 Outlook is deleted......So i have to start over again by assigning the person
    to the old Category. Strange operating by Outlook and Windows Phone...why is that?

    PEOPLE APP WITH OUTLOOK.COM: Entering email recipients in mail does not pick up my contacts from People App.

    I tried both of these remedies and neither worked. Outlook 2016 made everything worse. It duplicated everything, but still did not sync to my online outlook/people/contacts. All of my contacts are on my windows 10 dell but they won't sync with my online
    outlook. I refuse to use outlook 2016 until they do some major overhauling.

    Outlook 2016 contacts

    In Outlook, go to the People Icon on the Left panel at the bottom so Contacts is showing. Then on the Toolbar go to the View tab and Folder Pane and make sure it is set to Normal. On the Left Folder Pane should be a list of your Mail boxes. Hotmail will be at the top. Drag Your Main POP3 mailbox to the top, or you can right click it and choose Move UP.
