Windows 10: Outlook 2016 setup still broken (is gettable around)

Hi folks

Outlook 2016 setup is STILL hosed up after latest updates.

Manual setup of email accounts doesn't seem possible -- you have to go into the control panel and use the applets.

here's the defect in basic plain English

1) when creating email account you get following screen





2) on it you can check the box for create manually -- however the wretched thing instead of presenting you with the screens to set it up tries to connect to any email address you put in --that's probably OK for some email accounts but what if you have different in / outbound servers and non standard email servers with different passwords for inbound and outbound etc.

3) to get round - go into control panel (yes it's still there even in new release of Windows (1809) and click on the outlook 2016 applet then you get the classical setup screens again so you can connect to exchange / non standard mail servers again just like before they introduced this stupid change.

Group Email In Outlook 2016? Need Help!

The screen shot looks like that's where she would CREATE a new group. What is on the "Send/Receive" tab?

OK I have read many threads and posts about the solution "ZeroConfigExchange". But it does'nt work for my Windows 10 clients.

• Windows 10 x64
• Office 2016
• Office 365 / Azure AD accounts
• Client computer is join with Azure AD so the users login with Office 365 accounts
• No On-promise AD, only Azure AD
• AutoDiscover and modern authentication works with sharepoint and Outlook 2016
• Dword "ZeroConfigExchange" = 1 is created in both regkeys for all users
  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\AutoDiscover
  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\AutoDiscover

Problem
When I start Outlook 2016 for first time users it still prompts the "Welcome to Outlook 2016" setup wizard where I have to create a profile.

What am I doing wrong?

Group Email In Outlook 2016? Need Help!

Hi guys,

I have a client with a problem in outlook 2016 with her not been able to do a group email. She said she could just click on the group button on version 2007 outlook and then (I guess) select the group of people you wish to send a email to. But in this new version she cant as the group button or selection is greyed out. I honestly have no clue as I don't use the program but was wondering if anyone on here has any idea?

I have uploaded a pic of a screen shot of her outlook 2016 with the greyed out group option.

If anyone has any clue or suggestions to give me to give to her that would be great *Smile
