Outlook live mail freezem fail etc.

After no problems with Outlook since install of Win 10 years ago have recently, within the past month or so, have begun having outlook mail freeze for minutes and then operate with slow typing, loss of ability to highlight lines for deleting or cutting, etc. and just bad operation. Adding attachments often fails and seems to cause some freezing, etc. Just no longer working smoothly as it did for a long time. Restart helps for a bit. Could be update problems causing it. Use both IE 11 and latest Edge, both with same or similar problems. Suggestions and help greatly appreciated. Win 10 Pro V1703 Build 15063.726 32 bit 4 Gb RAM 1tb HD 90% empty Thanks,

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Anniversary Update

    Mark

    your link provided the answer.

All the Office 2003 programs work fine with the exception of Outlook 2003.

As I am currently using Live Mail as my e-mail client (I should have remembered that Outlook kept failing when I first installed Windows 10 so migrated to Live Mail) I have uninstalled Outlook and the message no longer appears.

    thanks again

For us to better understand your concern, what email client (Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Windows 10 Mail app, etc.) are you using?

    Thank you.

    Hi roving.

Because MS has so many products labelled Outlook and Live just wanted to confirm this is Outlook.live.com browsers email?

If so have you deleted your browsing data, (temporary files, cookies, history, etc)? Please ensure you know your passwords before trying this.

Another quick test would be to try another browser. Chrome and Firefox are both excellent products. Once testing is completed you can delete.

To get chrome navigate to google.com and to get firefox navigate to mozilla.org

    Hi,
Outlook Mail is updated quite often. It is not something you can leave for years.
You have to go in and configure settings as they have added in numerous features and links, switch off what you don't use.

In parallel with that, with each Web Browser you should delete temporary files, cookies, form data and so on occasionally as old stuff can lurk in there.

  9. I believe that MS wants you now to Purchase Office 365 or rather rent it. This is not an error.

Hi Ken,* Thanks to you and the others for your interest!* Indeed it is Outlook.live.com.* Little changes have been showing up over the past several weeks or months indicating the effects of the regular updates.* It happens, but I don't have to like them.* Like so many, I usually don't like change.* Old fuddy duddy I suppose.* I'll clean out the history and such and see if it improves and if not I'll try the other browsers and report back.

  11. I just went back into build 14393 and Outlook.com does not work in this build either. Coincidence ? I think not. This is MS's doings.

Hi Ken and all. While I am in the process of seeing if my changes etc to IE and Edge and Outlook.mail are doing any good I'll mention this:
Outlook live mail freezem fail etc. [IMG]
This attached warning has appeared each time I leave the comp untended for 30 or more minutes, more or less. It says a bit more, but this is the gist of it. This has happened a few times over the past couple of weeks. I just CtrAltDel and sign out and restart and all is well for some time. I have run and re-run Defender and Malwarebytes and they find nothing. I haven't done any searching of any kind for a long time to expose myself to any such that I can remember. How can I get rid of this pest, as regular defenses don't do it? Maybe I should have started a new post for this. .

  13. Outlook live mail freezem fail etc.

Is this coming up in Edge, IE or both.

For IE you clear all the browsing data, do this again if the message appears, then windows key + R, type inetcpl.cpl, enter. Click on "Advance Tab", at bottom of advance tab click on Reset. Then start IE, click on gear upper right, the click on "Manage Add-ons". There are four categories over on left of window that opened.

For Tool Bars disable the ones you don't recognize, right click, then disable. For the other categories, right click and remove the ones you don't use / recognize.

Let it sit for the 30 minutes and see if it reappears.

For Edge you need to reset it. If another member believes this can be solved another way please advise.

Hi Ken, Seems that it is occurring on both IE and Edge. Not entirely certain as I use both (mostly Edge) and when it starts I am distracted and haven't paid attention to the browser at that moment as I am shutting down, etc. I'll report if I determine that. I'll do what you suggest with IE. How to reset Edge? Many thanks,

Hi Ken, I just noticed that I overlooked the link to resetting Edge in you previous email. I'll follow those instructions if the thing pops up again. Thanks,
