Windows 10: Outlook on metered connection

My computer is set up for a metered connection because of data limits. When I open outlook to check me mail I get a Metered Network warning (Connect Anyways). Can I have the computer set to metered connection and change something in the registry to let outlook run like its not on a metered connection? So no more warnings.

Thanks for that suggestion Denis but that didn't work for my pc. The file mapisvc.inf was located elsewhere and after renaming to mapisvc.inf.bak and restart Outlook followed by a reboot didn't bring any joy.

That is certainly the type of solution I'm looking for though. Somewhere somehow Outlook must poll the current connection DefaultMediaCost and determine it's set to metered (2).

Since you're using a SIM to be able to use the internet, Windows 10 automatically set your connection as metered if your Internet service provider limits the data you can use.

You can turn the Set as metered connection option to OFF by following these steps:

• Click the Internet access icon from the Taskbar.
  
• Click the network where you are connected, then click Properties.
  
• Locate and toggle the Set as metered connection to OFF.
  

Let us know if the message still appears after following the above mentioned steps.

I've been casually following this and went back to the first post and this sentence:

That suggests to me it is a Windows Networking issue and involves the service subscribed to with the ISP being used. I'd also wonder if Outlook is set to automatically open at the reboot/restart. Spoiler, I may have missed something in that thinking.
