Windows 10: Outlook refused to take my second mail's password

Thank you ! I'd use Win 10 V2004(OS build 19041.388) with outlook 2019 pro MSO (16.0.1309.20338) 64 bit.

In my Outlook I have my gmail address which I used for my family/friends. My second email in outlook I'd my ISPN email address as secondary email which I used for mail to businesses and others. My default is the gmail one.

I was working fine with no problems, then I did a fresh install of win 10 and the same office. Now every time when I logged on to outlook the gmail account works fine, but then it stops and ask for my ISPN account password. When I add this account I tick to remember my password, but the next time it asked again. Then I have to put in again my password.

Did I do something wrong ? and any suggestions how to fix this ? meaning not to ask my second account's password. I like to keep my gmail as default.

Outlook refused to take my second mail's password

I've sen something like this before with accounts from Verizon (Oath, Yahoo, AOL). Using your password is grandfathered until you make a change, like your fresh install, and from that point on you are required to use an app password.

Plenty of ISP's use white labelled email service. It has their name as domain but under the covers it comes from one of the big names.


I would log on to your ISP mail, using browser, and see if you can get an app password. Then delete the account from Outlook and set up as new with app password. Don't try to change password in Outlook to app password, it won't take. Not sure why but I've tried many times. Delete account and start new.

Delete mails in Outlook but want to keep mails untouch in webmail

When I deleted an email in outlook and my webmail got deleted too. I want to keep all the inbox mails from the webmail even I complete deleted in outlook. I spend hrs can't think it out how. Any step by step instruction? I'm using IMAP account btw. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
