    It's one of the most annoying BSOD because page fault in non-paged area is one of the most non-specific errors that you can get. the BSOD occured when booting (I've seen my desktop and boot successfully, but minute later the PAGE_FAULT_IN NONPAGED_AREA kicks in

    I've seen it via blueScreenView dump

    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA 0x00000050 Parameter1: ffffffff`ffffffd0 Parameter2: 00000000`00000002 Parameter3: fffff805`25edb8c6 Parameter4: 00000000`00000002 File Description: NT Kernel & System Product Name: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System File Version: 10.0.19041.630 (WinBuild.160101.0800) caused by Driver: ntoskrnl.exe caused by address: ntoskrnl.exe+3f5210

    I've tried the following:

    chkdsk on both C and D (no problem)
    sfc /scannow (no corrupt / problem)
    window memory diagnostic tool (no problem)
    Boot with removed one RAM (let's say RAM A and B) tried all combination (RAM A only, RAM B only, RAM A + B, re-plugin both RAM)

    removing the virtual memory paging file to (custom size, system manged size, and no paging file)
    Removing my internal secondary SSD (secondary, the D:\ Drive)

    somehow I've found the "fix". so If I remove my internal secondary and boot. it will boot up successfully, but if the secondary drive is exist while botting, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA kicks in.

    Boot with both Drive plugged on laptop -> BSOD PAGE_FAULT Boot with both Drive plugged on laptop using Safe Mode -> Success Boot with Drive C only plugged -> Success Boot with Drive C on laptop and Drive D connected via enclosure(external) -> BSOD PAGE_FAULT Boot with Drive C only plugged, wait for booting process, then connect Drive D AFTERWARDS via enclosure -> Success

    I'm no expert here, but my assumption is that somehow when booting, my OS accesssing some file (or expecting some file exists) in my drive D but somehow doesn't found the said file / no access / or anything that cancel the OS to access it thus throwing a BSOD

    but if the drive D is not exist in the first place(internally or externally), OS somehow ignore that during booting, and afterward if I want to connect my drive D via enclosure, it will works flawlessly.

    while there is already a "fix" for it, how to trackdown what caused it? I still need the SSD to be installed in the laptop, not via enclosure.

  4. PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA after logging in

    Hi,

    last few days were preety hard for me, as I have been trying to get rid of the BSOD PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.

    I have tried these steps before asking for your help:

    • Memtest86 the RAM module, everything went fine
    • Run the HDD with SeaTools; Short DST and Long Generic PASS
    • Disabling the GDATA AV services with Autoruns Sysinternals, but didn't work out; BSODs after logging in with screen keyboard (AV blocks anyhow the keyboard)
    • Restore Windows, but doesn't help
    On top of that, I have reached the Minidump, the BSOD is caused by ntoskrnl.exe, but as I know, it is responsible for a lot of things.

    Specs of the computer: Dell Vostro 3900

    I'd be very grateful if you could help me resolve this problem.
