Paint 3D automatically enlarges original picture size after saving using the "save as" function

Very frustrated. I usually use MS Paint but thought to try out Paint 3D as it is more modern and allows me to rotate selected images to exact angles (In MS Paint you can only rotate images by 90' per rotation and therefore are limited to 90', 180', 270').

My original image size was 19.41cm X 28.48cm (scanned A4 hand drawn image, size confirmed in MS Paint).

After editing the file in Paint 3D and saving it as a .png file, the image is automatically resized by Paint 3D by about 6x to 121.27cm X 177.9cm

This is messing with my printing significantly as I need the image size to be printed exactly as per the original image (A4).

    Please help.

    :)

Paint 3D and save as video option

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

You may try the steps listed below and check if it works:

    Run App troubleshooter

    Reset Paint 3D app:

    • Open ‘Settings’ and click on ‘Update and Security’.
    • Click on ‘Apps’ and choose ‘Apps and features’.
    • Locate the ‘Paint 3D’ app and click on it.
    • Select ‘Advanced options’ and choose ‘Reset’.
    • Wait for the reset to complete.
    • Close settings, launch ‘Paint 3D’ and try saving now.

    Hope it helps,

Why does paint 3d ask to save changes to 'untitled' after a save?

    Hi Dave,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Could you please help me with the below questions:

    • Are you saving it as an image or a model?
    • Are you trying to edit a file that is already saved on the system?

The option untitled is showed only when you save it as an image for the first time. Instead, you should save it as paint 3D project first and then proceed with editing after which you can save the files.

    Here are the steps:

    1. Open the Paint 3D App.
    2. Click on New > select any shape, cube, or sticker.
    3. Get it on the blank page, adjust the appropriate size and click on the blank page.
    4. Click on the Expand menu on the top left corner of your screen.
    5. Click on save as > Click on
      Paint 3D project.

    6. Give a name to the project and click on save in paint 3D.

    7. Now, add other stickers or shapes to edit it. Tap on ‘Ctrl+S’ at the same time on the keyboard or click on save from Expand menu. This should automatically save your file instead of giving option to save as
    untitled.

    Hope it helps.

Paint 3D automatically enlarges original picture size after saving using the "save as" function

How to resize and save in 3D Paint

I'm trying my best to resize (no problem here) and save the resized (enlarged) picture but cannot. The Save As does zero when I click on that and when I click Save, I get the thrilling, heartburn causing message "something went wrong."

Probably the question is too general but do allow me to ask it anyway. How does one resize (enlarge) a picture and then save it as that new size?
