Windows 10: Paint Shop Pro 7 - asking for User directory on startup

i have had the well-documented problem of Paint Shop Pro 7 ancient i know putting up a dialog to select a user folder - apparently this happens when windows updates 10 are pending and the program files/Jasc folder is no longer available to store user info - the easy solution of course is to select some out of the way folder in documents - alas i foolishly selected Desktop and now every time i run PSP 7 it creates a whole bunch of folders on the desktop for these user templates - i tried to fix this in File/Preferences/File locations but have had no luck changing this behaviour - any ideas? - i'll switch to another program before i bother to reinstall it - thanks

Paint Shop Pro v.7 says "Browse for Folder - Please Choose a User Directory"

Hi,

Pointing to c:\Users\Your_User_Name_Here means that when opening the Paint Shop Pro, and you're asked to open a directory window, then asked again to
"choose a user directory" you would have to choose the directory in that sequence. It's like saving a particular file in a certain drive on your PC.

Is Jasc Paint Shop Pro Version 7 compatible with Windows 10?

This just started happening to me today. I updated to Windows 10 when it was released and Paint Shop Pro worked fine with it. Today I tried to open the program and I get "Browse for Folder. Please choose a user directory." but I don't know what this means.
Nothing helps when I click anything anyway. Is there a fix for this? I have other programs but I prefer PSP7 for photos. Thanks.

Waiting to hear about this, too! I've had Windows 10 since it's release and have had absolutely ZERO problems with my Paint Shop Pro v.7. Since the 16th of December 2015, now I can't open the program because of the message "Please choose a user directory."
Even when I DO choose a directory, it does absolutely nothing. Would appreciate a reply from someone here at Microsoft so that I, and others, having the same problem, can get this squared away.
