Windows 10: Password Choice

Why does Microsoft not allow users to choose their own password? You change your password once with Microsoft and then you are stuck in the endless and merciless cycle of not remembering your new password and not being allowed to use your old password. Its one of the most frusturating issues i have ever dealt with in regards to computers and technology in general. Why wont Microsoft allow its users to be adults and have personal responsibilty and accountability to themselves when the security of their personal information is at stake?

You can reset the Admin Password using Windows XP repair; See Here for step by step.

Password issue

After going through the steps to make a new password, after a week or two, my login credentials are no longer valid. I'm forced to make a new password all over again. It seems to happen if I don't login in a certain period of time. Does our passwords expire???

One of the possible reasons why your laptop is not asking if you like the spotlight choice might be because the Windows spotlight is not set as your lock screen background. To address this concern, we suggest enabling Windows spotlight as your lock screen
background. To do so, follow these steps:

• Go to Settings.
• Click on Personalization and then select Lock screen.
• Under Background, click on the drop down menu and make sure to click on Windows spotlight.
