Windows 10: password for windows o.s. access

I printed a windows 10 32 bit operating system password on the "notepad". In settings I opened the password window, copied the password I had printed on the notepad and pasted it in the "password" space or box and did the same copy and paste to "confirm". The next time I turned on the computer it asked for a password to start windows. I had written the password on a paste-it to assure I would enter it properly. Nevertheless, I could not start windows by entering it exactly as I had recorded it. Then I tried every iteration I could think of but still couldn't open the operating system. Two or three calls to Microsoft tech support later I still cannot open windows. Resetting the password didn't work. I tried twice. Apparently copy and paste is not pasting the same thing copied.

Has anyone else had this experience and if so please H E L P!!! I would be very grateful.
