Password (or PIN) Protecting 3rd Party App in Windows 10

I'm using Windows 10 Pro with latest (1809) Release.

Does Microsoft provide it's Users with any means of Password Protecting or Locking 3rd Party Apps? This is a 'general question' not specific to any particular App, though - just at present - I'm trying to find a way to Password or PIN Protect my Kindle For PC App (great APP) which I downloaded direct from Amazon (not the Microsoft Store).

Can't find a method inside the actual 'Kindle For PC App' to Password or PIN Protecting it. This might be because my 'Physical' Kindle is not a particularly 'recent' Model, and that (maybe) the Password or PIN has to be initiated on the actual Kindle Device, then carries-over to the Kindle PC App once set in that fashion.

Leaving Kindle aside, generally interested to know if there's a 'Microsoft' Method for Password or Pin Protecting 'any' App (plus if that 'method' only applies to Apps obtained through the Microsoft Store, or all 3rd Party Apps).

Thanks in advance for any info.

    :)

Windows Mail and 3rd party messages

    Hi,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.

Please assist me with the following information related to this issue:

    • May I know what exactly do you mean when you say "download messages from 3rd party into Windows Mail"?
    • Are you referring to Mail app on Windows 10? If so, are you able to receive any send email via Mail app?

If you are facing issues with Mail app, I suggest
run the in-built Windows Store app troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:

    • Press Windows Key + X..

    • Click on Control Panel.

    • Select Troubleshooting.

    • On the left pane, click on View All.

    • Click on Windows Store apps to run the troubleshooter.
Let us know if the issue is resolved or if you require further assistance.

Locking & 'Password Protecting' Apps (Windows 10 Pro)

Although I've seen a 3rd Party App (called App Locker) - does anyone happen to know if Windows 10 Pro includes a 'Native' (Microsoft) Function that allows User to make access to selected Apps 'password protected'?

I already have a Windows 'Log-in' Password, but understand that almost anyone who does a 'swat-up' on the Internet, can learn how to easily bi-pass it.

I'm currently beefing-up my PC Security following the vulnerabilities arising from Meltdown & Spectre. If, for example, someone steals my Laptop (and gets passed my Windows Password) it would be good if my
more important Apps were each protected with their own password.

I'm aware of the Bitlocker Option, but don't really want to encrypt my entire drive. An 'App Locking' Solution (that I could apply to 'only' those Apps I was concerned about) would suit me better.

I don't really want to use a '3rd Party' App Locker, because the more 3rd Party Apps you have installed, the greater the risks due to poorly written or malicious code.

If Microsoft Windows 10 does not offer this function then (if you're watching Microsoft) please consider adding it.

Thanks in anticipation of any suggestions.
