Windows 10: Password-protected Folders

Hello everyone! Seeking for help from computer experts here. I have some confidential and 'personal' files in my laptop, but sometimes my workmates and siblings borrow my device. There was one time when someone borrowed it, then he made a file search and the computer displayed one of my 'personal file' in the search result. I guess you know what I mean with that. That was so embarrassing that I turned red like a tomato! � Is there a way that I can create a password-protected folder where I can keep those confidential and personal files, and at the same time prevents the laptop from displaying results from these folders whenever someone made a file search. Password protecting Folders

I am building a machine for my friend and he was asking me to create folders and password protect it. How do I do in XP pro? Is there a built in tool or should I rely on third party tool? if so anything free out there?

Im posting this because i've been looking for a free tool like this sense XP thought people should know about it *Toast :toast:

Windows 7 when combined with Pismo get’s an incredible feature of creating password protected folders ( *.pfo ) which they call as Private Folders. It is just like any other folder to which you can add any folder and do any operation but not password protections just comes out of the box in Windows 7.

To create a private folder, you need to make a right click, select new and then private folders

Hi i have xp pro and i Unchecked the simple file sharing. Can you walk me through? what i want is to password protect Shared folders, so whenever from the others computers try to access those folders a Prompt message pop up asking for user name and password.
