Windows 10: Password retrival

Setting up a new laptop and need hotmail password to set up an email account in Windows Mail, which is how hotmail emails arrive on the old computer. Don't remember password, so can't go to webmail and reset password. Not saved in google password manager. Cant sign into microsoft account as need this password. Tried forgotton password reset in microsoft, gave info asked for, ie addresses of recent emails sent, subject lines etc. Just get automated reply saying account can't be verified. Have looked at Credential Manager in windows and password is there, but encrypted with no option to view. Is

To which "this" are you referring?
- If you are following the tutorial Bree suggested in the very first reply to your question then what you need to do at each step is explained in detail. So which step are you at?
- If you are following a different procedure then state what it is and which step you are at. If, for example, you are trying to manually enable the Built-In Admin as suggested in post #11 then that account has no password.
