Windows 10: Password

Why does my computer always tries to start up with the wrong password and I have to select the correct password?

I have tried many times going to settings, accounts, sign-in options and turned off both options under privacy. IT DOESN'T WORK!!!

I have gone to family & other people setting to remove unwanted passwords and I get the following useless message " We couldn't connect to Microsoft family right now, so your family on this device might not be up to date". Well... when will it be up to date!!! Or better yet who else can make it up to date?

I even tried to erase and re-install windows 10 and I certainly don't want to go through that again. What a nightmare.

I do not have my original password on a disk, this is my only computer and I don't have or have any use for a smart phone, so don't ask me to use that.

Does anybody have a real solution to my problem?

Password issue

After going through the steps to make a new password, after a week or two, my login credentials are no longer valid. I'm forced to make a new password all over again. It seems to happen if I don't login in a certain period of time. Does our passwords expire???

You can reset your password following the next steps:

• Reboot your computer / Turn your computer on.
• Hold down the Shift key at the start of the boot process to enable the GNU GRUB boot menu (if it does not show)
• Press ESC at the GNU GRUB prompt.
• Press e for edit.
• Use the Arrow keys to highlight the line that begins with kernel and press the e key.
• Go to the very end of the line and add rw init=/bin/bash
• Press Enter and then press b to boot your system.
• Your system will boot up to a passwordless root shell.
• Type in passwd yourusername
• Set your new password.
• Restart your system.
