  1. PC audio is being transmitted through Microphone

All of my PC audio is being transmitted through my microphone, even when the mic isturned off or unplugged. Below is a picture showing how the audio plays through both the headphones and the microphone. Please note that my microphone was turned off in this picture, and it was still doing this.

I have been trying to solve this problem all day. Here are the things I have tried:

    • I uninstalled and reinstalled all Realtek drivers, they are all up to date.
    • I did a repair upgrade of Windows 10, it is up to date.
    • Stereo mix is disabled.
    • 'Listen to this device' is disabled.
    • 'Exclusive Mode' is checked.
    • Here are my Realtek settings:

  4. PC audio is being transmitted through Microphone

    Headset/Microphone background reduction; suggestions

There's a solution to this out there, but I cannot pinpoint the right search terminology to get accurate results.

When I speak into my microphone, whatever sound is being sent into my headphones, is also directly sent to the microphone and outputted upon transmit.

This means that it's not a case of the sound coming out of the headphones, then travelling to the microphone, it's actually going straight to the microphone instead.

All I've come up with so far, is a suggestion to mute the microphone input via Windows. Though that seems to render the microphone useless.
