  1. PC Bootlooping after June Security Update

I got an update this morning on my PC. Now all it does is constantly reboot. Sometimes it gets far enough where I can force it to restart in recovery mode. I used that to remove the latest security update. It worked and the PC rebooted and I was able to login again. I left the room and came back to it applying the same failed update again. Now I'm back in the same place I was but now if I try to remove the update it fails with "we ran into a problem and won't be able to uninstall.."

PC is a few year old HP desktop that has always worked great until this. Is there any way to get this resolved without having to reinstall Windows and all my applications?

    :)

W10 Defender Security Centre Damaged after updates 14th June 2017

Well that appears to have worked on the one PC I have tried - thanks!

However it is a bit of an odd one:

Uninstalling 2017-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4022716) (installed 28th June) this needed a restart- but after that no active Security Centre - still as previous.

W10 update now wanted to download and install 2017-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4022725) which was the one that originally caused the problem back in mid June

After this update things look OK with the Security Centre - BUT W10 does not want to install the earlier deleted

    2017-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4022716).

Over the period of 13th to 15th June I installed and uninstalled and reinstalled and,,,, 2017-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4022725) numerous times to determine what was probably the cause of Security Centre problems
and it always caused a problem!

When I get a chance I will try your suggestion on another 'problem' PC and see what results there - sounds to me as if something has been changed and/or pulled from the list of Cumulative Updates.

Note - one thing I did check - after uninstalling (KB4022716) - there was no (KB4022725) in the 'Installed Updates' list.

Please be aware that I have not marked your response as 'Solved my problem' - as have yet to try out on second PC ETC.

About 1/2 hour after the above:

Turns out that the 2nd bad PC has righted itself without any uninstallation etc.

I did try the security centre on this PC prior to the suggested un-installation and it was definitely still unresponsive etc. On the 2nd PC however when tried it was OK again. There had been no visible updates to any of my PC's to explain that though!
