  1. PC constantly crashes for seemingly no reason

I have an old gaming pc that just started having trouble. I have a crashing problem so persistent that I’m beginning to think it’s a hardware issue; as I mentioned, It’s old - some components CPU/motherboard/HDD are at least 7 years old. However, this all began after simply moving the computer half a foot from where it previously was. If it’s a hardware issue, that’s one hell of a coincidence. I only scooted the PC a few inches but regardless, I began by insuring I didn’t jostle anything when I moved it. I ensured all components were seated correctly. The PC was not too hot. I put it i

  2. Gta 4 crashing constantly

Sup everyone, i seem to be having a very annoying problem. I purchased gta 4 recently and i installed it and it runs quite well, my system is listed in my specs. The problem with the game, is that about +/- 5 minutes of playing, the screen gets funny coloured squares and my whole pc crashes. I have xp sp3 installed. I have tried numerous things like clocking my cpu back to stock but to no avail. My pc is not overheating, thats for sure, i dunno. My mate just told me that it might just be a bug, but it seems strange that i bug in the game would cause my whole pc to crash. Any suggestions?

    Explorer.exe crashing constantly

    Hi Sophie,

There are several reasons why you've experienced the issue. If all the troubleshooting steps you found did not help, try disabling the Show recently used folders in Quick access and set Open file Explore to this PC. To do so, follow the steps below:

    • Open File Explorer.
    • On the View tab, select Options drop-down arrow.
    • Choose Change folder and search options.
    • On General tab, click the drop-down arrow beside Open File Explorer to and select
      This PC.

We also suggest clearing File Explorer in history.

Update us with the outcome so we can provide further assistance.

PC constantly crashes for seemingly no reason

    all games crash!

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
