Windows 10: PC freeze, reset during games

Thanks I'll report back with any problems. In layman terms why were the additional sticks causing the error? Should I bin or sell them?

They are only 1GB so not worth selling in my opinion, especially since one or more of them is defective.

If you want to find out which one(s) is/are bad, put only the 1GB modules in and run memtest86+.

 

Hey it was running beautifully since last time I posted then this morning it froze up then tonight it's done it's usual. I will do another dump asap. *Smile

First thing is to run the memory test again, make sure none of the remaining are bad.

The last dump looks like the Nvidia driver for your GeForce GTX 760 again.

Use DDU to uninstall the Nvidia driver before installing the next one.

Thanks I used that program, it did it I installed earlier version then it failed to install and wouldn't start up but then I did a system restore to before I used that and 'rolled back' the driver and touch wood it's been okay. Although it did reset last night I think.

Let's see, what's the terminology? Ah yes, "Pay it forward".

I really wish Nvidia would get it's act together. There have been many, many video problems when upgrading to Windows 10 and most have been Nvdia related. You'd think by now they would have found the problems and fixed them. Instead they keep releasing new hardware.

Hey I uninstalled then updated to latest version and it was fine for the last few days. Then suddenly it's started again.

I had some random crashed too. It started last week with nVidia drivers update(at least I think it is the problem) and I can tell it has ****** up my PC bad somehow. I formatted my HDD and reinstalled Windows 10 from scratch and the issue is still there. It was random freezes till now but after yesterday it freezes every time I play Paragon or Overwatch. One thing that helped me though is going to Control Panel> Power Options>Change Plan Settings> Change Advanced Plan Settings> PCI Express> Link State Power Management and turn that off. After this my PC freezes at least after 30ish minutes of gaming. Not a solution but still.

I did start a new thread couple days ago but I had zero replies...Anyways I tried DDU and installed graphics driver of May and the problem is relatively low now. Once a day I would say. Thanks for the assist
