Windows 10: PC not starting due to a USB Drive since the last Win Ver 1809 update (Oct Update)

I have a 1 GB USB drive connected to my PC to transfer data between accounts. Previously my machine would startup ok with this USB drive.

Ever since Update Version 1809, the PC does not boot up until I disconnect this USB drive. Is there still a bug with this update?

This USB drive remained as H:\ drive and I have C:\ D:\ E:\ F:\ but no G:\

Once the PC is running, I can plug it into a different slot and the USB drive is recognized as H:\

Any clues on how to fix this or if it is related to the update?

Should I change the USB drive to Drive G:\ (which gives me a warning) or should I check/change the PC Drive Boot Sequence?

WIN 1809 UPDATE

I JUST UPDATED TO WIN 1809 ON TWO COMPUTERS BUT A THIRD ONE, I JUST UPDATED TO 1803 OCT 2018 VER. IT DOES NOT FIND AN UPDATE TO 1809 WHEN I GO TO WIN UPDATE, SAYS I'M UP TO DATE AS OF TODAYS DATE AND IT IS JAN 2019

 

USB boot for bios update

Did the first step. It already doesn't work. Note the capacities and drive letters M:/N: The HP utility is about to format my raid-1 volume containing my 2 750gb drives. It thinks it's the usb stick. I can not select any other drives in the HP utility. My 512mb usb stick is U:.

Any other suggestions?

 

windows 10 update from ver.1709 to ver.1809

can we update Windows 10 ver.1709 to ver.1809 directly using "Windows 10 Update Assistant"???
