PC randomly crashes . Event Viewer says Kernel Power- Event ID 41 - Task Category (63)

    Hey guys,

Just set up a new pc. Everything is working fine and no overclocks to any components.

PC crashes randomly once in a while, sometimes while watching youtube. sometimes while running a program. sometimes during a game.

I notice when it crashes there is dark blue box in the top left corner of my monitor.

I have reinstalled graphics. audio. drivers. RAM is working fine it is on XMP 1.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. Event ID 41 Task Category 63

If i get no BSODs, no errors, no events logged in event viewer apart from kernel power 41 (63), not even the windows did not shut down successfully screen (don't know if that is still in windows 10), and the computer just turns off and a few seconds later it turns back on, is it safe to assume that it is the power supply and not the motherboard? Because I have heard that this can be caused by the motherboard. Also when this happens, is it harmful for the rest of the hardware?

[SOLVED] False "Kernel Power Event ID 41 (63)" reported into the Event Viewer

    Hello,

Thank both of you for your answers,

Just to summarize: there is no crash. I do not have crash on shut down. I do not have crash on boot. I do no have crash at all. My computer shuts down (apparently) without any issue. Then, on next boot-up (which is happening flawlessly), I have the message
in my Event Viewer. That's why I titled my post "False Kernel Power Event ID 41 (63) reported" PC randomly crashes . Event Viewer says Kernel Power- Event ID 41 - Task Category (63) ;)

I will dig through the Event Viewer to see if there is anything related to that (false) event. If I did not find anything (i.e. if this is beyond my understanding) I post the dump of it here.

    Regards,

    Kernel-Power event id 41. BugcheckCode 0

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In-order to get more clarity on this issue and to assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, reply with answers to the below questions:

    1. Are you aware of any changes made on your PC, prior to this issue?
    2. Is this issue specific while playing a particular game?
    3. Which edition of Windows are you currently using?

A Kernel Power Event 41 can occur in the following scenarios.

Scenario 1: The computer restarts, and there is a Stop error BugcheckCode in the event data.

Scenario 2: The computer is shut down by pressing and holding the power button.

Scenario 3: The system randomly restarts and no Stop error BugcheckCode is listed, or the computer is completely unresponsive (hard hang).

I suggest you refer the article on Kernel
    Power Event ID 41
and follow the steps for the scenario that is causing this error on your PC.

Additionally, you can refer the article on Windows
Kernel event ID 41 error "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first" in Windows

    and check if that helps.
