Windows 10: Pc resets after bios

Hey guys, I hope you have an idea since I have no clue anymore.

Following problem:

Yesterday my pc suddenly restarted and went into an infinite boot loop. Right after the circling dots from the loading screen appeared.

Pc goes black - > win 10 logo - > Black again

This even happens while trying to go into recovery mode

I was able to format the drives in bios and I tried a bootable stick (win 10 and also a Linux live usb) for a reinstall.

Same issues. Even with Linux.

To circle the issue I removed every hardware possible. And tried different hardware Configurations. Therefore I can say that its not the hard drives and ram.

Pc specs:

Ryzen 5 3600 Asus rog strix b550-f Corsair vengeance 2*16 3200mhz These parts are brand new and not older than 2 weeks.

Hard drive: Kingston 120gb ssd Wd Black 500gb nvme

Radeon 470 8gb graphics card

Everything worked fine until yesterday.

My idea is that the graphics card might be dying.

Hope you guys have an idea.

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Break command list: Break Commands

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".

 

Resetting Bios Password

I am doing some spring cleaning, getting rid of old desktops, laptops, and routers. Regarding the computers, I am wanting to wipe the hard drives with Darik's Boot and Nuke software. When I booted up one old Dell desktop from 2001, I learned that it requires a BIOS password. Why I ever put one on is beyond me. Unfortunately, I have forgotten the password. The rest of this message will be about wanting to know if my understanding for resetting the BIOS password is correct.

Technically, this thread/message isn't about Windows 10 specifically. But it does relate to hardware, and I am hoping that it would apply to a significant number of computers, so I hope this message is okay.

I called Dell, and the technician said that I needed to reset the jumper on motherboard to reset the BIOS password. After opening the case on my old Dell computer and hunting on the internet, this is the what I think I have learned. I will present photograph of a portion of the motherboard.





I have put a red rectangular box around what I think is the jumper for the BIOS. I note that "PASS" is written on the motherboard beside those three pins.

I believe these are steps I need to follow. Please correct me if I am wrong.

1. Turn off and unplug the computer. (It has been off and unplugged for about ten plus years. I just plugged it in today. I am not sure if this information is relevant. Perhaps it helps with regard to the motherboard's battery.)
2. Open the case and locate those "PASS" pins again.
3. Switch the jumper from the current two pins to include the third pin and middle pin. Leave it there for 5 seconds or more. In other words, move the jumper over one pin for a few seconds.
4. Reset the jumper back to its original position with the original pins.
5. Plug in the computer, and attempt to boot it up.
6. Assuming it boots up, open CD tray and put in Darik's Boot and Nuke software and follow the steps.

Is there any information that I am missing? Do I have the correct location for the jumper? Are my steps correct?
