Windows 10: PC Stuck in "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen

It began when I booted up my Laptop It was after an update if I remember right suddenly it went on that blue screen with the sad face, until it restarted.After the restart, I could see the start menu but it wouldn't react to anything, even after waiting a good amount of time. And so, I decided to force shutdown it 3 times to open the troubleshooting menu, and I made it startup repair. After 2 hours of it restarting, it never went anywhere, and I force shut it again to maybe start all over or try something else.The thing is, after turning it on again, the Manufacturer's logo appeared as norma

Preparing automatic repair black screen afterwards stuck

Fixing this gaming PC for a friend. His computer gets stuck on the windows logo with the dotted spinning circle. In the past to fix this i've done a startup repair. But this time, the PC starts the Preparing Automatic Repair, then screen goes black, where normally it should be showing diagnosing your pc before loaded the Automatic Repair screen.

What should I attempt to try next?

Try entering Safe Mode to repair

Press the power button to turn on your PC, then hold the power button down until PC shuts down automatically (about 5 seconds). Repeat this more than 2 times until you see the Preparing Automatic Repair (see below screenshot).

Note: This step is aim to bring up Preparing Automatic Repair screen. When Windows doesn’t boot properly, this screen pops up and Windows attempts to fix the problem by itself. If you’ve seen this screen for the first time when you power up the computer, skip
this step.

.- Then wait for Windows to diagnose your PC.

.- Click Advanced options, then the system will bring up the Windows RE (Recovery environment.) screen.

.- On the Windows RE (Recovery environment) screen, click Troubleshoot.

.- On the Troubleshoot screen, click Advanced options.

.- Click Startup Settings to continue.

.- Click Restart. The computer restarts and another screen opens showing a list of different startup options.

.- On your keyboard, press the 4 number key to enter Safe Mode without network. (If you need to do some online research after boot into the safe mode, press the 5 number key to enter Safe Mode with network access.)

Preparing Automatic Repair

My son's Lenovo Ideapad 110-15ACL has been stuck on "Preparing Automatic Repair" for over a week now. I can't followed any steps listed for remedying it because the computer doesn't respond to any instructions, like holding F8 or even booting from a USB, at all. Has anyone ideas or it's time to discard this 5-year old laptop?
