    PC turns blank after signing in.


    Recently my pc started going blank when signing into it, and the only way I know how to fix this is by shutting it down. When the screen goes blank, the mouse is still visible and stuff, any fixes?

    Frozen on blank screen when turning on PC/Can't sign in

    Hey, TenForums community! I was wondering if you could assist me with something.

    When I turn my PC on, the first time, it now goes to a blank screen where I can't use keyboard commands/mouse gestures at all.

    When I force power it off and turn it back on, then sometimes it loads past the Windows logo screen, but then after I unlock the screen to sign in, it just shows nothing instead of a place to type in my password.

    If I power it off and try again, SOMETIMES I'm lucky enough to actually get the sign in screen.

    Anyone have any idea why this is?! I've notice whether or not my keyboard's Num Lock light on sometimes determines whether or not the login screen shows up.... or that's just superstitious.

    The issue started happening since the anniversary update. I have since reset my PC and reinstalled all programs, and it still hasn't helped .

    PC Build Steps

    Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??

    This link here will lead to another site and it shows an older version of Windows. Nevertheless, the suggested fix is applicable in Win10.
