PC turns off without warning on higher graphics, not overheating.

Hello, I have a gaming pc I built a few months ago. It's more than capable of running higher graphics. I was doing some work in Unreal Engine 5 and enabled Ray Tracing yesterday. And the pc turned off a few minutes later. I was monitoring the temperature on my GPU and it reached 83 degrees Celsius c and the temperature monitor went blank and my pc turned off a few seconds after I'm using NZXT cam to monitor. My CPU temperature was lower than 83c. I'd like to note that my pc still turns off with Ray Tracing disabled but it can handle higher graphics. GPU: RX 6800 XT OC CPU: Ryzen 5 5600

    :)

    graphics card problems

    Hi,

Your computer makes a noise or beeps from your internal speaker because it failed to detect the graphics card. What we can suggest is for you to try cleaning your graphics card with a pencil eraser. Here are the steps below:

    • Turn your computer off.
    • Pull out your video/graphics card.
    • Rubbed the cold contacts with soft pencil eraser.
    • Connect your video/graphics card back to the computer.
Kindly note that this is just a temporary fix. If the case still continues, I suggest that you contact your graphics card's manufacturer.

Let us know how it goes.

  3. PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??

Update Failure to Install Wndows 10

    1. All of the USB Flash Drives I created to install Windows (Rufus, MCT and W2G) all worked on another computer, so that wasn't the problem
    • The new hard drive I installed tested 'good'
    • The new heat sink I installed did not fix the problem
    • Given the behavior of this laptop (a slowing boot over time, suggested some hardware part was wearing out
    • I was able to run a stress test, using a Linux tool in its Terminal, and in fact, the computer ran normal when in normal mode, but when I applied the stress test, the test turned red, suggesting overheating
Since I am not equipped to test computer hardware, I brought it to a local computer repair show, and they indeed confirmed that the problem here was overheating. When I had tried to load Windows, it placed a stress on the system, and the accelerated graphics overheated, disrupting the installation process. Since the cpu and its integrated graphics are part of the motherboard, I will be shopping for a new motherboard to finally fix this problem and get back to Windows 10. Thanks for all the help. I learned a lot through your suggestions and will be able to revisit them when similar problems arise with installing Windows 10 (at least to rule out the settings and/or software issues). And I hope this tread will be of help to others with similar problems in the future.
