PC Unable To Boot Into Windows.

I recently bought a 1tb Samsung SSD and I wanted to install windows onto it. I put it into SATA Port 0 and put my hdd into SATA Port 1. I formatted the HHD And SSD And installed windows onto the ssd using a USB. It worked fine for a night until I got a boot up error reading " Your PC/Device needs to be repaired. A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed. Error code: 0xc000000e. I restarted my pc and then it booted up fine. Now it gives the error screen every time I boot up. The startup settings can't be accessed and when I try to enter the RE it just restarts and gives the same error. When I press enter on the screen it changes to "the application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors. File:\windows\system32\winload.efi" None of the fix methods I've tried worked. I can't reinstall the OS because my drives don't show up on the installation media installer. I'm stuck. Please help.

    :)

  2. Unable to boot the PC

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand your concern as you are unable to boot the PC. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

    • What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
      winver in Windows search/Run command)
    • What is the make and model of the PC?

    • Are you aware of any changes on the PC prior to this issue?

I would suggest you to export and delete the BCD store and rebuild the BCD store. Refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Create
      a bootable media
and boot the PC using the media.
    2. On
the initial setup screen, select the language and other
      preferences
and click on Next. (If you don't see the setup screen, your PC might not be set up to boot from a drive. Check your PC manufacturer's website for info on how to change your PC's boot order, and then try again.)
    3. Now,
      click on Repair your computer.
    4. On
the System Recovery Options screen, select Troubleshoot>
      Advanced options > Command Prompt.
    5. Now
type in the commands and hit Enter:

      bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup

      c:

      cd boot

      attrib bcd -s -h –r

      ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old

      bootrec /RebuildBcd

  4. PC Unable To Boot Into Windows.

Unable to boot windows due to missing or corrupt files

    Hi Callum,

There are several reasons why your PC isn't booting properly. One of which is because of broken boot data configuration components. To isolate the issue, we highly suggest you to boot your PC in Safe Mode. Given that you cannot access the setup screen, please
    follow these steps:

    Do the improper shutdown process:

    • Turn on your computer.
    • When the Windows logo is visible, unplug the computer. Do this thrice.
    • At the 4th boot, simply wait for the Windows Recovery Environment window to appear.

After doing the improper shutdown process, please follow these steps:

    • On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot.
    • Click Advanced options then, Startup Settings.
    • Click Restart.
    • Once the PC has restarted, press the F4 key to boot in Safe Mode.

Let us know if the resolution worked for you.
