    PCs Can't See Each Other On A Network

    Hi

    Our network has not been working properly for ages but we've coped. Now, however, I want to get it working as it should do. Our network comprises three PCs, our two main PCs and a spare which does get used on a regular basis. All are connected via ethernet cables and currently the state of our network is as follows (and I hope it means something to someone).

    A:
    Sees both B and C in NETWORK plus itself and the router;
    Cannot access C as we are asked for credentials - none set;
    Has ready access to B.
    B:
    Cannot see either A or C or even itself in NETWORK - only the router appears;
    Can readily access both A and C via desktop icons;
    No access via program save and open dialogues.
    C:
    Cannot see either A or B or even itself in NETWORK - only the router appears;
    Can readily access B via desktop icon;
    Cannot access A as we are asked for credentials - none set;
    No access via program open or save dialogues.

    I've ensured that all permissions are appropriately given by adding Everyone and granting Full Control. I have even checked the four services that affect things and were missing the previous Win10.

    I don't think of myself as a bimbo when it comes to computing but give me anything to do with networking beyond the basics and I am lost and I'm looking for assistance. Therefore, if there is anyone who can help out then it would be very much appreciated.

    If any further info required please let me know and I'll respond as best I can.

    :)

    ...then i run 2 and both was true.

    Next step?

  3. Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

    I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

    Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
    We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
    I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
    Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

    1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
    2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
    3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.
    Step 2:
    I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
    3. Select add someone else on this PC.
    4. Enter a user name and hit next.
    5. Click on Finish.
    6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    Step 3:
    It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

    PCs Can't See Each Other On A Network

    How to Dump Networking Parameters?

    Had a customer with this problem, they had a brand new Dell Optiplex 3050, with Windows 10 1709, and Realtek Gbit Family of lan adapters (wired connection). After much troubleshooting (many suggestions listed in the course of this thread), it turned out the PC needed a bios update. Among the updates listed on the dell website for bios version 1.52 (I flashed it with the latest 1.92) was "Update RealtekLOM".

    LOM is "lan on motherboard" and the Realtek has flashable firmware.

    One step for others having this issue is to check their computer manufacturer's website for "Lom" firmware updates for the particular network adapter - whether integrated or an add-in.
