  1. Performance issues after updating to May 2020 build.

    Hardware: Lenovo Legion Y740 (i7-8750H + RTX 2070 Max-Q)

Moving around application windows and general experience with explorer has become laggy for me after the new update. On battery everything feels choppy and slow, but when I plug it in everything goes back to normal and fast. I never noticed anything like such on 1909, it used to be normal and fast to begin with.

Another issue is with gaming. I am experiencing very inconsistent FPS. It keeps fluctuating and dropping from 250 to 120-ish. Again on 1909, I used to get consistent FPS without any drops or fluctuations. Anyone else facing the same issue? I have tried everything and I am at my wit's end.

I am running all the latest drivers.

(Sorry if the flair is wrong, I am new here.)

    Hello,

Thank you for your reply, appreciate the time taken by you in keeping us updated on the status of the issue.

As the issue still persists, I suggest you to try the below steps and check if this helps.

I would suggest you to perform System Maintenance troubleshooter on the computer and check if it fixes the issue.

Please follow the steps to perform System maintenance check to improve performance of the computer:

    • Press Windows and x key together and select Control Panel.

    • Click on Troubleshooting.

    • Click on View all on the left side panel.

    • Click on System Maintenance and follow the onscreen instructions.

I also suggest you to install the latest Windows updates and check.

Windows Update helps keep your computer up to date with the latest system updates and drivers. You can check Windows Update manually to help ensure you have the latest updates.

    • Hit Windows Key and type

    • Type Windows Updates

    • Click on Check for updates
and install the latest windows updates.
Hope this helps. Please do let us know if you need any further assistance.

  3. Windows February 2020 updates related issues

The following is the list of updates I had few days ago:

    - KB4532691: 2020-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1809 for x64-based Systems

    - KB4524244: Security Update for Windows 10 Version 1809 for x64-based Systems

    - KB4538122: 2020-02 Cumulative Update for .NET framework 3.5, 4.7.2 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 1809 for x64

    - KB4537759: 2020-02 Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1809 for x64-based Systems

After those updates several functions were not working, mainly all related to taskbar and start menu responsiveness, Cortana was not running, and apps from Microsoft Store freeze on initial load of themselves.

I read about the issues related to update KB4524244 and so I uninstalled it as suggested from Microsoft this night through the Control Panel procedure ("Uninstall updates" from Settings). After a first reboot nothing was still working (of the issues stated
before); after a second reboot the following is working:

    - taskbar and start menu, but not right click on taskbar pins

    - Cortana is running

    - Mail is working, even with notifications, but not the other apps from Microsoft Store (e.g. OneNote, Tips, Skype, Microsoft Store itself)

Now I just noticed that another update was installed today, 2019-12 Update for Windows 10 Version 1809 for x64-based Systems (KB4023057).

I would like to ask how I can solve the issues I still face with Windows, particularly I am thinking about whether I have to reboot some more times to get all things to work or I need to reset the PC or I have to perform other actions.

I am experiencing what I reported with a laptop HP ProBook 450 G6 with Intel process (i7 - 8th gen) and Windows 10 Pro build 17763.1039.

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    Performance issues in Windows v1709

    Hi,

Performance issues in Windows 10 devices are usually occurring due to software incompatibility or software conflicts. For us to provide an accurate solution, we would need you to answer the following questions:

    • Which build and edition of Windows 10 is installed on your computer?
    • Which build and version of Windows is installed on your PC before you update to Windows 10 1709?
    • What is the make and model of the device?
    • Have you encountered any error messages when you are using your mouse?

In the meantime, we suggest following the steps provided in this link. The link serves as a guide on how to improve PC performance in Windows
    10.

With regard to your mouse concern, we believe that its driver is outdated. It will be best to manually update your mouse driver to address this issue. Use this
    link as your reference.

We are looking forward to your response.
