  1. Performance issues with new monitor at 1080p resolustion

Hello all I just purchased a new monitor and the picture/video quality looks great using HDMI as opposed to VGA but at the monitor's native resolution which is 1080p, I notice a serious drop in computer performance. Issues such as delays from when I type until the words actually appear on screen occur very frequently along with frequent freeze ups. Installing the monitor drivers have not helped. Could it be that my computer is too old for this new monitor? I have an HPE410t desktop which was released in 2010 and the monitor is an Asus MX259h. My graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 5450 series card with 512MB VRAM. What could cause this issue and what could I do to correct it? Thanks.

    :)

  2. Dual Monitor Setup issues - 4k and 1080p combination

The issue is worse than it seems at first. I have a 4k display (200%) scaling and a 1080p display (100% scaling) and even office apps look blurry on the 1080p display. If I unplug the 4k display and reboot the problem goes away. I believe the problem is
present on all apps and is a system issue. It's been suggested that to get the 100% scaling everything on both monitors is generated at 200% and then the part on the 1080p display is downsampled to 100%, resulting in the poor quality.

As it is Windows 10 is almost unusable with a very different DPI dual monitor setup.

  3. 4K and 1080p monitors

    Hi,

Since this issue on the app resolution is only happening on certain apps, then it could be that those apps that are mentioned doesn't support DPI Scaling. This issue commonly occur when the applications are moved between monitors that use different display
resolutions. So, to correct this issue, particularly on the app resolution, we suggest that you perform the helpful steps from this article:

Dual Monitor Setup issues - 4k and 1080p combination

Thanks for your reply, however these are all steps I've gone through. It seems to be a support issue with Windows 10 and this type of monitor setup. I have read that numerous people on the internet report similar issues.

Is it possible for you to confirm if Windows 10 supports 4KUHD (main display) and an external secondaru monitor (1080P) setup. The DPI scaling on the secondary monitor seems to be causing the trouble, icons appearing HUGE and certain software interfaces
such as: Photoshop suffering similar compatibility issues. This a 24" monitor to give you an idea how large that icon in the corner is. Photoshop is basically non-usable on the secondary monitor. Skype and the browser seem alright but text appears fuzzy. These
compatibility issues really should be resolved. Apple computers not suffering with these issues.
