  1. Periodic but seemingly random loss of internet connectivity

My desktop PC runs Windows 10 2004 build, but this is a long-standing issue that predates the current build and its predecessor.

I mainly use Firefox but revert to Edge and Chrome from time to time. The symptoms are that Firefox "freezes": no website can load, the address bar can be filled in but that's it - nothing happens. When I switch to Chrome or Edge, no website can be loaded. Further, no emails can be received or sent via Thunderbird, my mail client.

It's important to note that no other PCs on my network have this issue - the connection is sound.

Rebooting the router does not clear the issue. Rebooting the PC once or twice generally works, but not always, and sometimes I have to wait a while and reboot a third or fourth time before normal service is resumed.

My feeling is that perhaps the TCP/IP stack has become corrupted and needs a reboot, but I have no real evidence for this and it's just a suspicion. Things seem to happen when Windows is loading an update in the background but again, evidence for this is scant.

I have recently changed my Mobo, and had thought that the problem would go away, but it has returned, so I don't see it as a hardware issue.

My PC is connected by ethernet to an ethernet switch and then on to the router. I have tried using a Wireless connection when the problem occurs and sometimes the connection returns, BUT, equally, the problem can occur when I'm connecting via wireless. So I don't think the network is the root cause. And no other Windows 10 machines on the network have this issue.

Generally this happens around once or twice a week and it's been like this for the past year, so not a disaster, but it's all very irritating and it takes 30 minutes out of my day to sort it out, which can be frustrating when there are meetings to attend online.

Any ideas of things to try; how to collect incriminating data, and any fixes?

    :)

I am having these weird internet drops where it happens 1 - 2 times a day. I also have packet loss in game (I always see the icon of packet loss popping up in all the games I play)

I run my computer wired so it's not connected wireless. Not sure if any of this info means anything if something is bad here what is it and why? I don't really understand any of these things. Is there anything I need to bring up to my ISP? Thank you

Daily internet connection loss via browser/programs only

New windows 10 PC loses connection via browser or any program but can still ping via cmd. Already checked network, router, updated system, scanned for viruses, malware, etc ... other pc works fine on same network. Checked ipconfig /all and Default Gateway, DHCP Server, DNS Servers all had the same IP, is that bad?
Windows is connected because I can ping and tracert via cmd but no software programs can access via http like browser or thinkorswim.
Once internet fails the PC must be restarted , it will restart but takes a long time. Already checked task manager, disabled all updates , I start PC about 8-9AM and it usually loses connection around 10am to 11AM.
So to sum up windows 10 PC loses internet connection via browser/programs only seemingly once per day about an hour after start.
